1
Snip three, nine inch lengths from the roll of hemp cord. You can use natural-colored hemp, which is a deep beige tone, or you can use dyed hemp which comes in practically any color imaginable.
-
2
Line up the three cord pieces evenly, making sure they are all the same length. Match the ends of the hemp cords.
-
-
3
Tie a tight, small knot into one end of the three lined up cords. Slide a ring finding into the loop of the knot and then secure it around the loop. Finish the finding by adding a small dot of fabric glue to the knot.
-
4
Separate the three cords by pulling two together to one side and leaving one of the cords straight. Slide a single bead down the length of the straightened single cord.
-
5
Wrap the other two cords around the straight one down the middle, creating a simple wrap-knot. Wrap tightly, winding the two cords together down the length of the single cord for about three inches. Place another bead down the length of the single cord.
-
6
Continue wrap-winding the two cords around the single cord for another two inches. Slide another bead down the length of this cord before continuing to wrap until there is only about a half inch of cord fray at the bottom.
-
7
Twist the ends together and insert them together into the final bead. Secure the ends by tying them into a knot around a finding that corresponds with the ring at the other end. A lobster claw is useful. Secure it in place by squeezing a small dot of glue on the knot.
