Make a personalized candy wrapper for a special occasion.

There is no need to purchase special software to make personalized candy wrappers. All you need is a computer with a publishing program. Personalized candy wrappers are ideal as party favors or gifts because you can make them for any size of candy bar. When you make a personalized candy wrapper, place it around the outside of the original wrapper to protect the candy from the elements and to prevent the wrapper you made from oil or sugar spots.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a blank page in your publishing software. Go to the “Page Layout” section of the program to make sure that your paper size is 8.5 inches by 11 inches.

    • 2

Click on the “Shapes” or “Auto Shapes” tab on the side of the screen. You may also find this tab in the “Insert” menu of the program. Select the icon that looks like a square or rectangle.

    • 3

Make a rectangle after clicking on the icon to make a square by placing the mouse cursor over the page and dragging the mouse while holding down the left button on the mouse. The rectangle should measure three inches long and1 1/2 inches wide. The grids on the sides of the screen indicate the measurements.

    • 4

Insert a picture on the candy wrapper by clicking on “Picture” in the “Insert” menu. You will then have the option to use your own image or Clip Art from the computer.

    • 5

Insert text on the candy wrapper by clicking on the “Text Box” button on the side or bottom of the screen. Then, make the text box the same way you would a rectangle. By highlighting the words in the text box, you can change the font type and size.

    • 6

Highlight the candy wrapper you just made, along with the pictures and text, with your mouse and right-click over the selection with your mouse. Then, select “Copy” from the menu that appears.

    • 7

Paste the selection onto the document 11 times. You should be able to fit at least four candy wrapper images across the page and three candy wrapper images down the page.

    • 8

Print the candy wrapper onto a piece of paper or an adhesive sheet of paper that does not have individual labels.

    • 9

Cut the candy wrapper graphics out and stick them over the original candy wrapper if you are using adhesive paper or secure the ends of the wrapper that meet with glue.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make a large candy bar follow the steps above, but make a rectangle that measures 5 3/4 inch by 5 1/2 inches. You will only be able to fit one large candy wrapper on a piece of paper.
