Make homemade earring display racks.

Earring displays can be used in the home, retail stores or craft shows. Many people purchase earring displays, but many of them are too small for the quantity of earrings that they want to display. If you make your own earring display rack, then you can make it match the size and shape that you need. You can make multiple frames for craft shows or retail stores to display items that you want to sell. These earring displays can be used in two ways. You can make an earring display to sit on a counter or hang on a wall. Either way you make the display, it gives your earrings a sophisticated look.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay the picture frame on a flat surface with the front facing down. If the frame has glass and a backing in it, remove both of them out of the frame.

    • 2

Measure the opening. Make sure you measure the widest part of the inside opening. This measurement needs to be as close to exact as possible.

    • 3

Measure and mark the hardware cloth with the measurements from step 2. Cut the hardware cloth with a pair of tin snips. Be careful not to cut your hands.

    • 4

Place the hardware cloth into the opening on the frame from the back.

    • 5

Nail one nail into each corner and in the center of each side of the frame. Make sure the nail goes through the hardware cloth, and into the side of the frame. Do not let the nails go onto the outside of the front of the frame.

    • 6

Choose your display method. If you want to hang your frame, start by cutting a piece of wire 6 inches longer than the picture frame. Screw in the eye bolts on the left and right sides of the frame 3 inches from the top. Run a piece of picture hanging wire through the 2 eye bolts. Make sure you leave about 3 inches of extra wire on each side.

    • 7

Bend the wire back towards the center of the frame, and coil it around the wire between the 2 eyebolts. Wrap a small piece of tape around the ends of the wire. This will keep the wire in place, and keep people from cutting themselves on the wire. Once this step is done you are ready to use this design to display your jewelry. If you choose to stand the frame up on a table, Sand the 4 inch by 1 inch by width of frame piece of wood. Paint or stain the base of the display, and allow it to dry. Lay the board on the flat surface, so the 1 inch by width of the frame side is on the bottom and top. Place the end of the frame on top of the board, so the bottom edges line up. Nail the frame into place. Set the frame down on the flat surface with the 4 inch by width of board side the surface, and you are ready to display your jewelry.
