How to Clean a Honeywell QuietCare Humidifier
The Honeywell QuietCare Humidifier is available in a variety of different models. All of the Honeywell QuietCare Humidifier models come with the Protec Cleaning Cartridge, which is designed to prevent buildup of mineral deposits in the humidifier. You should still clean the humidifier by doing scale removal and disinfecting. It is important to do the cleaning in that order to prevent harmful chemical interactions, according to Honeywell. Power off and unplug the Honeywell QuietCare Humidifier. Remove the water tank and the motor housing from the humidifier.

Remove the filter and dump out any water that may still be in the humidifier base.

Put 8 oz. of white vinegar into the base and let it sit for 20 minutes. You can wipe down the interior of the humidifier with a soft cloth to remove scales. Dump the vinegar and rinse with water when the time is up.

Disinfect the humidifier by filling the water tank with 1 gallon of water and 1 tsp. of bleach. Also put some of this solution into the base--just enough to cover the bottom is enough, but extra will not hurt it. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then dump it out and rinse with water until you no longer smell the bleach in the unit.
