How to Clean and Make Wood Blinds Look Like New

Wood blinds provide a natural alternative to vinyl or aluminum. Whether they're made of bamboo, cedar or basswood, avoid cleaning your wood blinds with water. Excess water can ruin their color and cause the wood to warp. Vacuum away any dust or dirt and work your way up to more intensive cleaning methods only if necessary. Things You'll Need

• Vacuum with brush attachment
• Wood polish
• Microfiber cloth

Instructions

1. Flip the wood blinds to one side and vacuum them with a brush attachment. Start at the top and work your way across the blinds.

2. Flip the blinds so the opposite side is facing in. Vacuum them thoroughly, starting from the top.

3. Dampen a microfiber cloth with a small amount of wood polish. Wipe it over each slat to remove any tough dirt and make the wood shine.
