1
Lay the napkin flat.
-
2
Fold the napkin in half downward so that it opens toward you.
-
-
3
Fold the napkin in half along the opposite axis so that it is now in quarters.
-
4
Create an "accordion fold" through the entire napkin across the diagonal. To do this, make small folds along the diagonal throughout the entire napkin, making sure to keep the open side of the napkin at the top. Clutch the folding napkin in the middle so that the two sides open out a little more.
-
5
Fold the napkin along the middle where you are clutching from step 4. This will make the napkin almost look like a bird.
-
6
Place the napkin into the goblet. The newly created fold from step 5 should be at the bottom of the goblet and there should be two "wings" sticking out of the glass.
-
7
Carefully pry the loose corners from the pieces of the napkin that is sticking up from the glass. This will create a blossoming flower look, the "lily" that the fold is named after. Continue prying loose the napkin until it creates the look you want.
