What Is an Easy Way to Calculate Subnet?

"Subnet" is short for "Sub Network," and refers to a piece of your computer's Internet or network connection that is considered separate from the whole connection. If you want to calculate subnet, you're attempting to find out the numerical code that represents that part of your connection. The easy way to calculate subnet is to just let your computer make the calculation for you automatically, which is done through the Network and Sharing Center.

Instructions

1. Click "Start."

2. Click "Control Panel."

3. Click "Network and Sharing Center."

4. Click on the name of your connection under the "Connections" heading.

5. Click the "Details" button. Your subnet calculation will be listed in this "Details" box that is now open on screen.
