Instructions

Make a list of the large chores that need to be done regularly, such as cleaning out the refrigerator or cleaning the dryer vent. Make another list with the smaller daily jobs that need to be accomplished. For example, things such as washing dishes and picking up daily clutter in living areas need to be done every day.

    • 2

Consult your calendar and mark the large chores on days when you want them done. For instance, schedule the refrigerator cleaning on the first of each month and another large project on a different day each month.

    • 3

Put together a checklist for each day of the week. Make a section for chores that must be done daily, followed by a section for jobs that need to be done just on that day. For example, along with regular daily cleaning, washing clothes would be added to Monday's list. Add any monthly chore that falls on a certain day to the list as well.

    • 4

Break each daily list into separate lists for each family member. If straightening bedrooms is part of the daily list, give the job to the owner of the bedroom. Designating chores to other family members will give you more time to accomplish other things.

Tips & Warnings

  • Consider breaking the cleaning into zones for each day. For example, clean the living areas one day and bathrooms the next. This will allow you to concentrate on one area at a time.
