How to Draw Easy Cartoon People
Cartoons and comics are a source of entertainment loved by many. You can make your own cartoons for yourself or others. What may surprise you about drawing cartoons is the amount of creativity you can bring to this single activity—and it's so easy, too. Cartoons are meant to be simple and iconic; this is what gives them such massive appeal. You can easily draw cartoon figures, lots of them, and they can all look different and interesting.

1
Start by drawing a circle. This is the head. You may instead make this an oval (long and skinny, or short and wide) for variety.
-
2
Draw the body beneath the circle. The body can be round, block shaped, oval or pear shaped. Under the body, draw the legs with parallel vertical lines. Represent feet with ovals (long or short). The arms are the same as the legs; they are represented by parallel lines and circles at the end for the hands. Connect the head to the body with two parallel lines for the neck.

3
Draw the facial features. Nearly everyone has drawn a cartoon-like face before, so this should be easy to do. Represent the eyes by simple dots, or by dots within larger circles. Make a mouth that is a curve going up in a smile, or bending down in a frown, or even jagged to represent frustration or anger. Draw a nose that is understated (as a dot or a cute bowl shape), or emphasize the nose by drawing a long banana shape. Draw hair in long straight lines, standing up or lying down, or in curlicues. Add ears shaped like C's to the sides of the face .

4
Draw the clothes by adding lines on the body to show the end seams of the clothes. For example, the neckline of the shirt is best drawn as a bowl-shape line that crosses from one side of the neck to the other. Represent the ends of the sleeves as lines across the wrists or tops of the arms. Represent the bottom of the shirt/top of the pants as a line across the waist, and the bottom of the pants by a line drawn at the bottoms of the legs, just above the feet.

5
Color the cartoons as desired, using crayons or colored pencils. Use bright, flat colors.
