How to Design a Fax Cover Sheet
Fax cover sheets don’t immediately come to mind when you think of marketing your business. But a fax cover sheet, when used correctly, is an effective marketing tool that can maximize results without annoying clients. Insert a logo and add service, promotional and contact information in the header and footer, spreading brand awareness and educating clients on your business and services. No sales pitch required. Display available fax templates within your Microsoft Word program by opening Word, selecting "New" on the menu bar and, depending on your version of Word, selecting "Letters & Faxes" from the tab options, clicking once on the word “faxes” or typing “fax cover sheet” in the search box.

Templates are only limited by your design imagination. Load a template onto your computer by clicking the template you prefer and, depending on your version of Word, clicking the "Download", "Select" or "Okay" button once.

Redesign the template any way you’d like using your mouse, the “Format” menu or toolbar icons. Highlight sections of text to change font style and size. Replace graphics with your company logo by selecting “Insert”, then “Picture” and locating your logo file. Edit header and footer information by selecting "Header" or "Footer” and inputting desired information. Or remove elements you don’t like by highlighting and deleting the text and graphics.

Save your newly-designed fax cover sheet to your hard drive as a template for future use by selecting "File", "Save as" and "Word template" as the file type.
