How to Open Collage Picture Frames

Regular picture frames are constructed in the same manner as collage frames.

A big part of home decorating is based on what's hanging on the walls. A good way to spice up an otherwise stale room is to decorate the walls with art. One idea of spicing up the walls it to create a collage, using multiple pictures that work together to form a bigger aesthetic. To successfully mount a collage, you must obtain a collage picture frame. Opening and working with these can be fairly simple, as they offer an intuitive design for people to casually switch the pictures.

Things You'll Need

• Glass cleaner
• Cleaning cloth

Instructions

1. Turn the picture frame upside down. The glass needs to be facing down in order to easily access the back mounting plate of the frame.

2. Unlatch the pieces of metal holding the back mount in place. Depending on the type of collage picture frame you decided to invest in, the mechanisms that hold the back mount in place may act a little differently, but they all require the same motor skills to unlatch. Some need to be physically bent upwards in order to pop the mount out. Others simply swivel over behind the frame, allowing the mounting board to be easily lifted out. Tamper with the mechanisms until you figure out how to move them and then remove the back mounting piece.

3. Clean the inside of the glass with the glass cleaner and cloth. Dust can build up on the inside of the frame, so it's best to clean it from both the inside and outside. Eliminate any leftover moisture within the collage picture frame so your pictures will be safe from any damage. All that is to put in your desired pictures and affix the back mount back onto the frame, reapplying the latches to secure it.
