How to Install a RingCentral Printer on a Vista Computer
One of the security features of Microsoft Windows Vista is that many executable programs are blocked and must be installed by an administrator of the computer. This feature prevents end users from installing unwanted software and malware onto the computer. Users have reported issues when installing the RingCentral printer drivers on a Vista computer, receiving the error message that a Group Policy is preventing the installation. The Group Policy editor available in Windows Vista, Business and Ultimate versions, will enable the computer’s administrator to turn off the policy that is blocking installation of the RingCentral printer drivers.

"7. Click the "Disallow installation of printers using kernel-mode drivers" option in the right panel. This is the policy that is blocking installation of the RingCentral printer drivers..." This is the step that I missed. No wonder my installation is erroneous.
