How to Troubleshoot the Autodesk DWG Viewer
Autodesk DWG Viewer is a program that lets you view DWG design files on your computer, even if you don't have an installation of the full AutoCAD software that was used to create them. This program will allow you to view DWG design files that have already been created, but it will not allow you to edit them or to create new ones. If you're having problems with your Autodesk DWG Viewer, there are a few common solutions you can try to fix them.

1
Repair Autodesk DWG Viewer through the Control Panel. Open the Windows Control Panel and then select "Programs and Features." Click on Autodesk DWG Viewer and then click on the "Repair" option. This re-installs Autodesk DWG Viewer on your computer which will fix any problems with the program that came about as a result of a erroneous installation.

2
Update Autodesk DWG Viewer. There are two different ways to do this. You can select "Help" and "Check for Updates" in the program itself. You can also go to Autodesk's website for the program and download and install the latest version in the form of an installation file. This process will fix any errors you're having with Autodesk DWG Viewer that were fixed in later versions by the Autodesk design team.

3
Close any programs you don't need to have open. Because AutoCAD drawings can be quite extensive, opening them with Autodesk DWG Viewer could tax your computer's system resources--especially on an older machine. If Autodesk DWG Viewer doesn't have the memory it needs to operate, it will run slowly and could crash. Closing other programs will free up memory which Autodesk DWG Viewer can then use to operate properly.
