1
Write an executive summary. A central component of your business plan, the executive summary describes your mission, vision for the future and highlights your company success. Include four to five paragraphs. Some sample sentences might read, “Our company will produce clothing goods and sell whole to buyers who work…” Or you could write, “Our customers will purchase quality clothing goods from our factory warehouse…”

2
Write a company summary. Here you will describe where your clothing production company will be located. Include hours of operation. If your location and hours of operation are unknown, you may submit proposals for both. For example, you might state, “ABC Apparel Manufacturing proposed location is in the heart of downtown in (city) and our proposed hours of operation will be..."

3
Write an industry summary. Research and gather information on apparel manufacturers. Include at least four business competitors. Write their location and one sentence explaining their position in the market. Point out the differences between your company and a competitor. For example, you could write, “Sparkle manufacturer produces jean clothing and is 15 miles from our production site. Unlike our company, Sparkle does not offer wholesale pricing."
-
4
Include a products and services section. Make a list of the products that your clothing-production company will sell and include your proposed prices.
-
5
Create a marketing summary. Choose three to four marketing methods. Explain how each will be used to inform the public your company exits. Include methods such as: business cards, local newspapers and magazines, web banners, phone-book listing and word of mouth. An example statement might read “ABC Apparel Manufacturing will advertise in the local newspaper, placing a one-page advertisement.”
-
6
Create a budget spreadsheet. Show all the costs associated with your clothing production business. Use the first column to input start-up capital (if any) and list donated items. In the next column, list expenses such as warehouse rent, utilities, telephones, machinery, payroll, marketing fees, consulting fees. It is permitted to estimate all expenses.
