Rubber has a very strong odor, especially when it is new. If you purchased a set of rubber floor mats for your car, you will want to remove the rubber smell before you set them inside of the car.   • 1 cup ammonia
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup baking soda

      Place 1 cup of warm water, 1 cup of ammonia, 1/2 cup of vinegar, and 1/4 cup of baking soda in a small bucket and stir to combine.     Not sure about the vinegar (acid) and baking soda (alkaline) - from basic chemistry we know that they will chemically react and neutralise each other. Have one or the other but not both... Like mixing a bleach compound with ammonia - they chemically react to produce a toxic chlorine gas!
