How to Remove the Backup Battery from a Gateway Solo Laptop
The Gateway Solo laptop is a notebook computer created and distributed by the Gateway Corporation. Your Gateway Solo's battery is the device that holds power to be used by your Solo's various devices. Power comes in from the power supply connected to your wall outlet, and is subsequently stored by the backup battery. If you would like to remove the backup battery in your Gateway Solo, you will need the use of a screwdriver. Removing the backup battery in your Gateway Solo will take about five minutes to complete.

Turn off your Gateway Solo and remove the power cord and any other peripheral components.

Turn over your Gateway Solo and locate the backup battery chamber. It will be clearly labeled by a battery symbol and the word “Backup.”

Use your screwdriver to remove the lid to the battery chamber.

Press down on the latch and carefully pull your battery out of its chamber to complete the operation.
