3. Contact your provincial business registry to inquire of needed licenses and permits for your company. Depending on your industry, provincial and national regulations may apply. For example, if you operate a real estate office, you may need a film permit if you wish use and take video and film for commercial purposes; you might need a sign permit if you wish to make or alter any signs on public property. And you will need a real estate license.

4. Maintain up-to-date registration and licenses your business. Contact your provincial board for requirements, expiration dates and dues.
