How to Change a Tape to a CD
Changing a tape to a CD is a simple process. One method of transferring the tape is to download free software from the internet. With a special cable that connects your tape player to the computer, you can then copy the tape onto your computer and then burn a CD from the computer. The second process is a much older, but less involved process. In this way, you won’t need to purchase or download any special tools.

Tips & Warnings
If you don't have a CD/tape recorder combo, look in your basement or attic before purchasing one. They were very popular when CDs first came out. You probably won't find one at an electronic stores, but you can still find them on the Internet. As of 2010, a decent one was available for under $50.
Unlike CDs, tapes have two sides to them and both sides fit on one CD.
Try to flip the tape and press play again as fast as possible so you don’t end up with too much of a gap on your CD.
