How to Stop Toll-Free Calls
Unwanted toll-free calls can drain your time and energy and can increase levels of frustration. The National Do Not Call Registry, which is run by the federal government, allows you to control which toll free numbers are permitted to call you. Listing your home or cell phone number with the Do Not Call Registry will stop most calls from telemarketers.
The Federal Do Not Call List was created in 2003. You only need to register your number once. Telephone solicitors are required by federal law to avoid contacting anyone whose number is on the Do Not Call List.
