How to Download Music From the Internet to an MP3

Visit a Web-based file-sharing site with your Internet browser such as LimeLinx.com and 4shared.com. Check copyright restrictions to make sure the site does not download material illegally.

Type the name of the music you're looking for in the site's search field that will be displayed at the top of its homepage. In most cases, you'll need the artist's name and the title of the song. Click the "Search" icon or link button next to or below the search field to retrieve download results for the music you're looking for.

Click the "Download" or "Download Now" link on the song's overview page. Opt to save the music by double-clicking the "Save" option in the download box that will pop up over the browser. This action will store the music to your computer's hard drive upon the completion of the download process.

Connect the MP3 player to the computer to prepare for synchronization, the process of moving the downloaded music from the Internet to the MP3 player's internal memory for playback.

Locate the MP3 player's icon in the left pane's list of connected portable devices. The MP3 player's model should show up in the left pane of the media player application. This will be your indication that the MP3 player has been recognized by the computer.

Press the F3 key on your computer's keyboard to access the "Import" or "Add to Library" settings. Add the folder where the downloaded music is stored to the computer and click "OK." All of the songs will be added to your media player's library. Click the "Sync" tab action at the top of the media player's window.

Click and drag the downloaded music files from the media library to the Sync pane that will now be available on the right side of the media player screen. Click "Start Sync" to download the files to the MP3 player.
