How Do I Read a DAT Tape on Windows?

DAT tape is a relatively inexpensive form of magnetic storage medium, akin to a hard drive or floppy but with the burdensome restriction of only being able to read data sequentially. Reading a DAT tape on your Windows machine requires the use of an add-on DAT tape reader, a hardware device enabling you to plug your DAT tape into the system.
