How to Rig Up for Catching a Walleye
The walleye is a freshwater fish found in Canada and the United States. Their eyes reflect light that allows them to see well in murky water. Fishing for walleye has become a known sport for anglers due to the fact that catching one is a challenge. It takes patience and skill to catch them but the reward is worth the wait. The best time to catch a walleye is in early spring when they are spawning and at night when they are feeding.

1
Wind fishing line onto your rod and leave 15 feet hanging off the end of the rod. Cut 8 feet of line off the end. Cut this line into two pieces, one 5 feet long and one 3 feet long.

2
Attach a 3-way swivel to your line by inserting the end of the line through the eye of the swivel twice, leaving two loops. Wrap the end of the line around the line going back to the rod 5 to 6 times then pass it through the loops and pull tight. Trim off the excess line. Attach your two cut lines to the other ends of the swivel.
