Terrazzo flooring is engineered to be poured in place and ground to a smooth finish, or shipped in finished sections for installation. The aggregate used for terrazzo floor is porous and must be sealed to provide protection from absorbing soil and liquid that can stain the floor. 1
Remove dust and dirt from the floor with an untreated, dry dust mop. Start from one side of the room and work to the other; overlapping with each pass to ensure collection of all dust. You should dry mop weekly, or more frequently if the floor receives heavy foot traffic.

2
Wash as needed with clear water or a mild cleaning product with a pH between 7 and 10. Soap or detergent with a pH lower than 7 can penetrate some sealants and stain the terrazzo floor. If a cleaning product is used, rinse with clear water after washing.
