Call Center Agent: How to Get Free Training

Call center agents answer questions and help customers. Many work-at-home opportunities are available for call center agents. Training for each call center is unique. Basic training is provided for free through local companies. While some unique training may still be necessary, starting with a local company is an excellent way to get started with your career in becoming a call center agent.

Things You'll Need

  • Résumé
  • Apply at local call centers. Most communities have one or two local call centers. Getting a job at one of these call centers is a way to get free paid training. It is also a way to obtain experience.

  • Obtain telecommuting work. Many work-at-home call centers still provide free training. Certain start-up costs do apply, such as buying a headset and completing a background check.

  • Ask for individualized training. Talk to a local call center employee and ask him to provide you with training. They can help you learn what it takes to be a call center agent.

  • Volunteer at a call center. Certain non-profit agencies provide opportunities to volunteer. This will give you free training and allow you to help others.

Tips & Warnings
