1
Choose warm, earthy colors for your kitchen that give the room a rustic feel. Stick with shades of brown, yellow, and burnt orange. The most drastic change you can give your kitchen is painting the walls in one of these deep, rich colors.
-
2
Create texture to the walls if possible using plaster or faux-finishing to give the walls a weathered look.

3
Use natural materials like stone, slate and marble for countertops. These materials are also appropriate for the floors, or you can install wooden floors.
-
4
Add mosaics or colored tiles for a Tuscan effect on backsplashes or tabletops. Decorate your kitchen with images that evoke Tuscany such as landscapes, vineyards, grapes or wine. If you’re feeling crafty, paint one yourself to create your own mural.
-
5
Choose chunky, wooden furniture that looks rustic and lived-in. You can distress furniture that you already own through painting or sanding techniques. Wrought-iron furniture is also a good option for creating the image of Tuscany in your kitchen.
