Instructions

  1. Indoor Flag Pole

    • 1

Attach the long pole to the base of the flagpole. Depending on the model of flagpole that you own, it will either slide into place and lock or you will need to spin the pole to thread it into place.

    • 2

Unfold the flag. Arrange it so that it faces right side up.

    • 3

Slip the flag over the open top of the pole. Move slowly so you do not accidentally rip the flag fabric on the hook at the top of the pole. Slide it down until you can see the pole sticking out through the top of the flag sleeve.

    • 4

Pull the fabric strip out of the top of the flag sleeve. Hook the fabric strip to the hook at the top of the pole to hold the flag up.

    • 5

Attach the tip, or finial, to the top of the long pole. Depending on the model of flagpole you have, you will either have to thread it into place or insert a pin to hold the top into place.

    Outdoor Flag Pole

    • 6

Unfasten the halyard rope from the pole.

    • 7

Unfold your flag. Secure it to the clips on your halyard rope. Most flags have eyelets on the edge of the flag where you can attach the flag to the rope.

    • 8

Grasp the side of the halyard rope not attached to the flag. Standard outdoor flagpoles have a loop of halyard rope that allows you to hoist the flag by pulling on one end. Do not stop pulling the halyard loop until the flag is at the height you desire.

    • 9

Reattach the halyard rope to the pole after you finish hoisting the flag. Never leave the halyard rope loose or your flag could slide to the ground.
