How to Season an Electric Waffle Iron

How to Season an Electric Waffle Iron thumbnail
Season your electric waffle iron so your waffles won't stick inside the appliance.

Like older waffle irons and electric grills, your electric waffle iron contains two metal plates that heat quickly and cook your waffle/pancake batter in minutes. Electric waffle iron plates are durable and washable, but they need to be seasoned after each cleaning. Seasoning keeps batter from sticking to the waffle iron's hot plates. If you don't season the plates, batter will stick and burn inside your waffle iron, causing the appliance to start smoking. Does this Spark an idea?
