Removing Paint From Wicker Furniture
Wicker furniture, such as as small chair, is often painted red, brown or white. The intricate weaves and thin string of wood make wicker furniture difficult to clean and maintain. When wicker furniture is stored outside, it can deteriorate over the years, and antique wicker furniture is often retouched with new paint. Removing old paint from a wicker chair can take much time and effort, but with repeated tries you should be able to do the job. Does this Spark an idea?

Remove all dust and dirt on the wicker furniture, using a vacuum. You can also use a duster to clean wicker furniture.

Move a wire brush gently over the furniture to remove any flakes of paint.

Add a small amount of paint thinner to a dry cloth. Apply the paint thinner on the cloth to the areas of paint you want to remove.

Add more paint thinner to the wicker furniture until the paint begins to peel off. Use the wire brush to remove the remaining flakes of paint.

Remove bits of paint that are lodged deep into the weave of the wicker furniture, using an ice pick.
