How to Monitor Keystroke

When you monitor keystrokes, you keep a record of every word a person types while using a computer. There is no native way to do this in the Windows operating system, so if you really want to keep tabs on the people that use a particular computer you're going to have to download and install some third-party software. There are a number of software vendors that make programs that will monitor the keystrokes on your machine.

Use Elite Keylogger Pro (see Resources). Elite Keylogger Pro will not only monitor the keystrokes being entered into a computer, but it will also tell you which programs specific keystrokes were entered into (which can be useful in determining things like which website are being visited or to whom instant messages and emails are being sent).

Use SoftActivity TS Monitor (see Resources). SoftActivity TS Monitor is mainly designed for use with computer servers, so you can monitor what keystrokes a person is entering while they're making changes to a computer server. You can also keep tabs on what a person is doing during a remote desktop connect session between two different computers.

Use Spector Pro 2010 (see Resources). Spector Pro 2010 is a program designed for logging the keystrokes on a particular computer. Spector Pro 2010 will keep a database of files containing keystroke information, which you can view at any time. Spector Pro 2010 also lets you keep track of what websites a person views while on the Internet, read emails that they receive and see what profiles a person visits while on social networking sites such as Facebook or MySpace.
