1
Turn the wheelbarrow upside down so that the tire is pointing up and can rotate freely. Look for the hole or object puncturing the tire. Remove nails, screws or other objects out of the tire with a pair of pliers.
-
2
Mix a solution of half dish soap and half water in a small container, if you cannot find the source of the air leak. Inflate the tire with 10 pounds of air pressure, and rub the soap and water mixture on the tire with your fingers. A hissing sound should alert you to the general vicinity of the leak. The soap and water mixture will bubble up around the air leak.

Grab the reaming tool out of the tire repair kit. The reaming tool looks like a small round file with a "T" handle. Insert the reaming tool into the puncture, and move the reaming tool in and out to clean the puncture. Twist the tool left to right as you move the tool in and out to help clean the puncture.

4
Place a plug on the end of the insertion tool. The insertion tool looks similar to the reaming tool except that the end of the tool has a hook. The plug is a 4-inch long round piece of rubber. Insert the middle of the plug into the hook of the insertion tool. Apply the rubber cement that comes with the kit to the outside of the plug.

5
Insert the plug end of the tool into the hole in the tire. Keep inserting the tool until only 1/4-inch of the ends of the plug are visible. Quickly pull the tool out of the tire. The plug will slip off the tool and stay in the tire. Trim the ends of the plug flush with the tire with a pair of household scissors. Inflate the tire to the PSI rating on the side of the tire with your air compressor. Turn the wheelbarrow back upright.
