How to Stop Spyware SpyBot & SpyBlaster
SpyBlaster Search & Destroy and Spybot are two popular anti-spyware removal programs. SpyBot Search & Destroy finds and gets rid of all spyware on your system. It also takes care of keyloggers, adware and Trojans. Unlike most anti-spyware programs, a list of spyware being checked appears at the bottom of the screen. SpyBlaster removes spyware, adware, malware and key loggers from your PC. It also has real-time protection to block spyware and adware from getting into your system. They are both easy-to-use tools.

Download SpyBot Search & Destroy (see Resources). Click on the installation link and follow the on-screen instructions. Open SpyBot Search & Destroy either by clicking on the icon on your desktop, or by selecting the “Start” menu, then “All Programs” and “Spybot Search & Destroy.” Click “Spybot Search & Destroy” one more time.

Open Spybot and click “Check for Problems” at the top of the screen. A list of spyware and adware Spybot checks during a scan appears at the bottom of the screen. This may take up to an hour depending on factors such as the last time you performed a scan with Spybot Search & Destroy. Wait for the program to finish. A box that says “Fix Selected Programs” will open.

Check each box next to "Found Problems", and click “Fix Selected Problems” at the top of the screen. Click “Yes” on the pop-up window, and the entries will be removed from your computer. Spybot puts a large green check mark next to each spyware name it removes.

Click the "Immunize" icon in the top left panel. Click “Enable permanent blocking of bad address in Internet Explorer.” Close the program by clicking on the “X” at the top right corner.

Update Spybot weekly. You will not get a notification when there are updates available, so check for updates each week before you run a spyware scan. To check for updates, open Spybot Search & Destroy. Click the “Search for Updates” button. If updates are available, check the boxes for each update and click “Download Updates.”

Download SpyBlaster (See “Resources”). Click on the installation link and follow the on-screen instructions until the program is saved on your computer.

Click “Start”, “Programs” and “SpyBlaster.” Click “Update” at the top of the screen. If there are updates available, they will download.

Click "Smart Scan" or "Full System Scan". A Smart Scan scans only important areas, where spyware usually resides. A Full Scan, which takes more time, scans every single file on your computer.

Let SpyBlaster run until it is finished scanning. A progress bar at the bottom of the screen indicates when the scanning is complete. It will take approximately 20 minutes to run depending upon factors such as the last time you performed a scan with SpyBlaster. SpyBlaster shows a list of the affected files. Click the green check mark at the top of the screen to remove the spyware.
