How to Make a CD Cover on the Computer

Writing on a CD with permanent marker might be enough for a backup of some files. However, when you want to create a memorable cover for a burned CD, or organize your CDs by creating informative CD covers, making your own CD cover is the way to go. There are a number of ways to create a CD cover, sometimes called a CD or DVD “case insert” on your computer.

This option works on any computer platform because you access it through your web browser. You print the cover directly from the website.

      Create a CD case insert using Microsoft Word. Microsoft Word users have the option of downloading customizable CD cover templates online. You can customize these templates by clicking on the placeholder text and images and replacing them with your own.

      Download and install UndercoverXP to create CD covers. This freeware application is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. You can select from a number of different color styles and add images though the graphical format editor.
