How to Clean a Sheepskin Cover
Cleaning a sheepskin seat cover can be a challenge. Sheepskin is a natural substance, and thus is more sensitive to normative modes of cleaning. Were you to wash sheepskin seat covers in a standard washing machine and dryer, they would shrink enormously, shed wool and dry out. Other methods may be slightly more challenging, but will ultimately prove far more successful.

1
Regularly, lightly vacuum sheepskin seat covers. This keeps the sheepskin from absorbing dirt and other substances that build up over time, ultimately ending in bald spots on the seat covers.
-
2
Spot-clean dirt and other spills immediately. The sooner stains are treated, the easier it will be to get them out. Spot-cleaning with a gentle soap and cold water mixture will remove these substances without causing extensive damage to the sheepskin.

3
Use a specialized cleaner. Companies that sell sheepskin products often also sell a designated cleaner, such as Cloud Nine Sheepskin All Purpose Cleaner & Protector. This not only cleans sheepskins, but it also leaves a protective covering on the sheepskin to prevent dirt from sinking in.
-
4
Send your sheepskin covers to the dry cleaner. When all else fails and the sheepskin covers need a thorough cleaning, having them dry cleaned will be the gentlest and least damaging way to do so. Dry cleaning sheepskin is not always guaranteed to be successful, but it is known to demonstrate good results.
