How to Use the Kirby Ultimate G
The Kirby Ultimate G is one of Kirby's latest models of vacuum cleaners. It is no secret that you can use the Kirby Ultimate G as a regular upright vacuum cleaner. However, some of the other features of the vacuum cleaner are just as useful. You can turn your Kirby Ultimate G into a hand-held cleaner. You can also add attachments to reach places that your regular unit cannot reach. Does this Spark an idea?

Upright Vacuum Cleaner

Remove the power cord from the cord holder that is on the Kirby vacuum. Plug the power cord in a nearby electrical outlet.

Adjust the height of your Kirby vacuum cleaner to a height that is appropriate for your carpet pile. This is done by pressing the two foot levers that are located beside the left front wheel of the vacuum cleaner. To lower the vacuum cleaner, press the top foot lever. To raise the vacuum cleaner, press the bottom foot lever.

Turn the Kirby vacuum cleaner on by pressing the “On/Off” foot pedal that is located on the back. This pedal is near the base of the handle, right above the wheels.

Adjust the handle of your Kirby vacuum cleaner by sliding the “Handle Lock” switch that is located near the front base of the handle. By sliding this switch, you can lift the handle up and down.

Press the “Tech Drive” pedal that is on the back of the Kirby vacuum cleaner if you want the vacuum cleaner to roll by itself as you steer it. The tech drive pedal is the pedal that is located right underneath the "On/Off” foot pedal. Press the side of the tech drive pedal that is labeled “D.” You can turn off the tech drive feature by pressing the side of the tech drive pedal that is labeled “N.”

Press the release mechanism that is located at the top of the vacuum cleaner bag. This will release the top of the bag so you can pull it off of the handle.

Remove the handle from the vacuum cleaner unit by pressing the release button that is located on the back base of the handle. This will allow you to lift the handle off of the unit.

Insert the portable handle into the slot that the upright handle was removed from.

Insert the top of the vacuum cleaner bag into the slot that is on the back of the portable handle.
Add Attachments

Lift the metal cover that is on the front of the vacuum cleaner.

Pull the release lever back. Turn the release lever counter clockwise to release the front unit.

Pull the release lever back. Turn the release lever counter clockwise to release the front unit.

Attach the vacuum cleaner hose. Turn the knob above the hose to the right to lock the hose in place.

Let down the metal cover. You can now attach any of the various attachments to the vacuum cleaner hose.
