How to Copyright Protected DVDs

How to Copyright Protected DVDs thumbnail
Protect your legal rights by copyrighting your DVD.

According to the U.S. Copyright Office, a DVD you produce has copyright protection upon its creation. However, to file a copyright-infringement lawsuit against someone who violates your intellectual property rights, you first must register the copyright. Register it by mailing a registration form or by completing an online application. The application process is not free, but you will save money by using the online method. Once you register your DVD, no one can copy your DVD without your permission.
