How to Make a Wedding Card Holder Box
Wedding receptions are a busy time for everyone involved--guests, bridal party, and especially the bride and groom. Though a gift of money or a card is perfectly acceptable, it's important to make sure that these gifts don't get lost in the shuffle of the reception. A wedding-card box provides a place for guests to safely deposit cards and checks. A homemade wedding-card box is also an opportunity to reflect the style of the wedding at the reception.

1
Determine what size box you will need. Think about how many people you expect to attend the reception and make sure to have a box big enough to accommodate cards from that many people. Then find a corresponding box. It doesn't matter what the box looks like, because you are going to decorate it.

Cut a slot in the top of the box. The slot should be big enough so that a large greeting card can fit through easily without being bent.

3
Cover the box. A pretty paper provides a clean slate on which to decorate, and hides any markings that might be on the box. You can use gift wrap or tissue paper to cover the box or you can even cover the box with a coat of paint. You may want to consider the theme of your wedding and cover the box in a color or pattern that will compliment your design scheme. Make sure not to cover over the card slot.

Decorate the box. If you like things plain, you can simply cover the box and leave it at that. Otherwise, you can use all sorts of craft supplies to add pizazz to your wedding-card box. Tying ribbon around the box can make the box look like another wedding gift, and adding rhinestones or crystals can add some glamor to your wedding day. If you're feeling creative, you can add sequins or feathers. You can also use paint or markers to write the name or monogram of the bride and groom on the box.

Place the box on the gift table at your wedding reception.
