How to Form an Airsoft Team

How to Form an Airsoft Team thumbnail
Airsoft players need team members in order to compete in most events.

Airsoft teams organize to test their skills against other players in a simulated combat environment. These teams use imitation firearms, known as airsoft guns, that fire plastic pellets at high velocities. Teams function to both support their players and help train less experienced participants. Airsoft teams train together so that players can learn one another’s playing styles and develop tactics to overcome their opponents. New airsoft teams often struggle to find members because some areas might lack a large pool of unaffiliated players.

Instructions

    • 1

Create a flyer for your new airsoft team. List the desired team name, contact information and required commitments. Required commitments include the expected number and duration of training sessions or events.

    • 2

Visit your local airsoft or paintball center and post your flyers on their corkboard or announcement walls. Local centers make excellent meeting grounds for new teams.

    • 3

Ask other players at your center if they are a member of an airsoft team or would like to consider joining yours. Players can often join multiple teams, provided the teams are not engaged in the same airsoft battles and tournaments.

    • 4

Post ads in online or print publications with the same information as your flyer. Many online classifieds and some local papers offer team-building ads for free.

    • 5

Start a thread on airsoft player forum websites looking for players in your area. Many players also seek teams, and there are typically fewer willing to start a team than play in one.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don’t keep bad apples. If a team member is causing problems within your group, pull him aside and explain how he can improve his communication or other team skills. Provide a reasonable time for the player to improve before he will be dropped from the team.
