How to Print Computer-Generated Labels
Handwritten labels may seem like something that will only take a small bit of time. If you're doing more than a few, however, they can really eat up a lot of your time and become hard to read. Computer labels can be printed quickly, especially for something like address labels.

1
Find the labels you want. You can get mailing labels for addressees or for return address, labels for CDs or any number of things. These labels can usually be bought at office-supply stores and department stores.
-
2
Open software to use for the labels. Many labels either use MS Word templates or have software that you can download from their website. Open Word or download the software and open it.

-
3
Select the label type in the software. In older versions of Word, you will look for a Label or Envelope option and choose the label type and number. In Word 2007, click on the "Mailings" tab and then choose "Labels." Choose "Options" and choose the manufacturer in the Label Vendors list. After doing this choose the product number from the list. Click "OK" when you are done.
-
4
Insert the labels in your printer. There are specific labels for laser or inkjet printers. Be sure the paper faces the correct direction so that the printed information appears on the label, not the backing of the paper.
-
5
Enter the information that goes on the labels in the word-processing program. Choose "Print" and the labels should start printing after you choose your printer and click “OK.“ You may want to print a test page on a normal sheet of paper first to avoid wasting the label paper.
