Vick's Ultrasonic Humidifier Cleaning Instructions
The Vicks Ultrasonic Humidifier should be kept clean to keep buildup from forming and to prevent bacteria from growing. Vicks recommends cleaning the unit at least once a week as part of routine care and maintenance. Clean the humidifier more often if mineral deposits are forming rapidly during use. If the home has hard water, it may cause mineral deposits to form quickly. Does this Spark an idea?

Add 1 tsp. of bleach to 1 gallon of water. Fill the water tank partially with the bleach and water solution. Allow it to stand for 20 minutes, shaking vigorously every few minutes.

Drain the solution from the water tank. Rinse the tank with clean water until the smell of bleach is completely gone.

Dampen a soft cloth with the bleach and water solution. Wipe the reservoir with the cloth. Rinse the reservoir area thoroughly with clean water.

Add 1 tsp. of white vinegar to the bleach and water solution. Clean off any mineral deposits around the water sensor and nebulizer with a soft cloth dampened with the solution.
