How to Trace Missing Persons
When a person goes missing, family and friends don’t always process information quickly or function properly because of stress and shock. However, it is important to remain active and take measures quickly to find the missing person. There are a few guidelines you can act upon immediately to help recover your loved one.

1
Call friends and relatives of the missing person and find out who heard from him last. Also, visit the person’s routine places, such as work, local grocery store, perhaps a hideaway spot at the local park. Children or people with amnesia are most likely found at places they visit frequently.
-
2
Call hospitals in the area and find out if anybody by his name and description has arrived. The hospital may not be able to reveal much information, but it will certainly tell you if an unidentified person has been brought in or has been killed in an accident.

3
Put up fliers around the city. Take a recent photograph of the person and make several copies. Write down your telephone number on it and write in bold, “MISSING.”
-
4
Contact car rental services as well as airlines. Find out if someone who goes by the person’s name has left the town.
-
5
Contact the police and file a missing person report. If the person doesn’t turn up within 48 hours, ask the police to assign a detective and meet with him immediately. Although you must follow the detective’s instructions on the case, you must stay proactive yourself, too.
