Standing Labels
-
1
Purchase a package of business cards you can print at home. Find these at office supply stores. Look for cards that are easily pulled apart along the perforation.
-
2
Open your word processor program. Click on the “Labels” section located at the top of the toolbar. Scroll through the list for the business cards section. Select the business card template that has the same dimensions as your cards.
-
-
3
Select the “Landscape” layout so the cards are positioned vertically.
-
4
Type a large, easy to read headline at the top of the card. This should display your business name or the name of the garment. This may look like “Pete’s Second Hand Shop” or “Used Levi Jeans.”
-
5
Type under the headline some smaller text to give more information, if you like. This may say, “Handmade Blouse” or “100% Cotton.”
-
6
Hit the “Enter” tab twice to give yourself plenty of space in between the text and the price. In this section, you can add a signature or add additional sales information.
-
7
Type a dollar sign to show your item's price.
-
8
Name your file and save it. Print the cards one sheet at a time. Punch the cards from the perforation. Fold the cards about 2/3 down from the top. Stand these price tags next to a group of the same items.
Adhesive Labels
-
9
Buy 1-inch wide circular adhesive price labels. Choose labels that come in sheets of 30 or more.
-
10
Open your word processor. Select “Tools” from the toolbar at the top or bottom of the page.
-
11
Choose the option that says, “Labels.” Scroll through the list to find the labels that match your 1-inch stickers.
-
12
Type the product amount in the label. Select an easy to read font and the color you desire. Besides black, red and blue inks are also nice. Save the file and print the sheet.
-
13
Remove the stickers from the sheet one at a time. Attach them to hanging tags or place them directly on the item for sale.
