1
Cut several yards of at least two different colors of embroidery thread. Cut as many threads of as many colors as you like. The more strands you use, the wider your bracelet. Two strands make a bracelet about 1/2-inch wide.
-
2
Fold your strands in half and grasp at the midway point. Tie a knot so there is a small loop above the knot with four strands hanging down.

-
3
Separate the strands according to color and leave a bit of space between each strand so you have room to work. If you have chosen blue and yellow as your colors, for example, you should have two blue strands on the left and two yellow on the right.
-
4
Grasp the blue strand the furthest to the left. Hold it with your left hand, and with your right, pull the end of the strand over the second blue thread to form a triangle shape. Wrap the first thread underneath the second and pull it up through the triangular opening. Pull it tight up to the top knot.

5
Repeat the knotting technique twice on each strand and then start over with the strand furthest to the left. So after completing two knots on the blue and each yellow strand with the first blue, repeat the pattern with the second blue strand, then each of the yellow strands.

Tie a knot at the end once your bracelet is long enough. Cut off the ends of the embroidery thread. Fasten the bracelet by pushing the knot through the loop at the other end.

Tips & Warnings
Use a safety pin through the top loop to fasten the bracelet to your pants or a tablecloth as you work. This helps keep the bracelet steady so you can make your knots as tight as possible to keep the bracelet smooth and straight.
