A marriage license allows a couple to be legally married. You should apply for a marriage license in Idaho at least one month before you plan to get married. Your license does not expire, but you can only use it to get married in the state of Idaho.

      Get your birth certificate, driver's license, and social security card.

      Go to the county court clerk's office in your area. Your prospective spouse should go with you.

      Read and sign the mandatory AIDS educational pamphlet as required by state law.

      Pay the marriage license fee of $28 on weekdays and $45 on Saturdays. Cash is the only payment method accepted. You will be issued a marriage license on the same day.
