How to Care for a Tempur-Pedic Mattress

Clean your Tempur-Pedic mattress with the vacuum cleaner.

Tempur-Pedic carries a line of luxury mattress options that are costly but will last many years when properly cared for. To keep the mattress looking brand new, you want to implement a cleaning routine that removes buildup as it accumulates without causing any deterioration to the mattress itself. This can be done with a few basic household cleaning products that you probably already have on hand.

Things You'll Need

• Vacuum cleaner
• Cleaning rags
• Water
• Baking soda

Instructions

1. Vacuum over the mattress with a hose attachment to remove dirt, dust mites and similar loose debris. Do this every month or so to keep buildup at a minimum.

2. Sprinkle a light coating of baking soda over the mattress to deodorize, or sprinkle a thick coating over spills to absorb the liquid safely. Let the soda sit in place for 15 minutes.

3. Vacuum the mattress once more to collect the baking soda.

4. Wipe off sticky buildup and residue with a damp rag. Make sure the rag is only damp and not soaked, as you want to use as little moisture as possible.
