Use a shovel to remove snow from short gravel driveways. Carefully shovel the snow, leaving a thin layer above the gravel to avoid picking up the gravel. Push the shovel down into the snow and scoop out one shovelful at a time. Pile the snow along the sides and back of the driveway.

Use a snowblower for medium-length to long or wide gravel driveways. Adjust the height of the skids so that the paddle is approximately 1 inch above the gravel. This will prevent the machine from picking up gravel. Guide the snowblower in a manner similar to guiding a lawnmower. Direct the snow to the sides and back of the driveway.
