Clean dirty golf balls at home

Cleaning your golf balls after every use does more than just keeping the golf balls looking their best. Cleaner golf balls fly farther and more accurately than dirty golf balls. Properly and thoroughly cleaning dirty golf balls allows you to reuse the golf balls at a golf course or driving range. A little work can save you a good amount of money. Safely and effectively cleaning golf balls consumes less of your time than nine holes at your favorite golf course.

Instructions

    • 1

Wipe away any caked-on dirt or debris found on the golf balls with a clean, soft towel or cloth. Performing this step pre-soaking makes fully cleaning the golf balls easier.

    • 2

Add warm water and liquid dish soap into the clean bucket or sink. The amount of water or soap used depends on the amount of golf balls you're washing. No more than three teaspoons of soap is necessary.

    • 3

Soak the dirty golf balls for approximately five to ten minutes.

    • 4

Remove the golf balls from the soapy water. Rinse them with lukewarm tap water.

    • 5

Dry the golf balls with another clean, soft towel.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can substitute two or thee denture tablets for the liquid dish soap. Soak the golf balls for five to ten minutes, then rinse and dry the balls.

  • Avoid using brushes on the golf balls. You could damage the surface of your golf balls. That kind of damage can affect the way a golf ball travels on the ground or in the air.
