How to Fix Shaky Photos
Digital cameras are popular due to their ability to take pictures that can been seen and distributed immediately after they're taken. For the most part, most current digital camera take photos that are impressively crisp. Sometimes, however, extenuating circumstances may turn an otherwise good photograph into a blurry, shaky one. In the event that you take a photo that ends up being blurry, there are a few steps that you can take in correcting the photo without having to do a re-shoot.

Open your photo editing software. In order to adjust the photos, you will need to purchase or download any software that allows you to edit photos in real time. Refer to Resources for a link to a comprehensive list of compatible software. Open your application by clicking "Start" in the bottom left portion of your desktop, and then selecting "All Programs." Find your program, which should be listed by name, and double-click it.

Open your photo within the software. Refer to the menu bar at the top right portion of the software. Click on the section entitled "File." Highlight the section called "Open." Click it to open up a window that browses the files on your computer. Select the image that you would like to edit in order to open it inside the application.

Adjust your photo's color and contrast. In order to have the most effective fix to your shaky photo, auto adjust your photo using your photo editing software. Refer to the menu bar. Select the section that either says, "Effects," "Layers," or "Image," depending on which software you select. Highlight and select the option(s) that read "Auto Color," "Auto Contrast," and "Auto Tone." The image will then be automatically adjusted to look as vibrant and colorful as possible.

Sharpen the image. Refer to the menu bar. Select "Filters" or "Effects," depending on the software. Highlight the section entitled "Sharpen." A drop-down list of several options should appear. Select the one that you would deemed to be most appropriate based on the severity of the shake or blur in the photo. These options include "Sharpen More," "Sharpen Less," "Smart Sharpen" and "Sharpen Edges." Select one of these options in order to fix the blur or shakiness in the image.

Save the changes to the image. Refer to the menu bar. Select "File," and then highlight and click "Save Image." Select "Yes" when the application asks if you would like to overwrite the previous image of the same name. Close the image editing program.

There are ways to prevent taking shaky and blurry photos, which would minimize the need to edit the photos late. Increasing the exposure on your digital camera will allow you to capture moving images much more effectively. Also, investing in a camera stand will provide stable support to keep your camera from shaking in the middle of taking a picture. Try to take several pictures of the same subject as well. This will allow you to pick the most suitable picture of the bunch.
