Instructions

    • 1

Have your foot fitted for hockey skates at a sports store. Be sure to wear the type of socks you wear when playing.

    • 2

Lace up the skates as firmly as possible.

    • 3

Kick the heels back to lock them in place and walk around on them. Feel for any painful areas as you walk about.

    • 4

Adjust skate areas such as the laces and heel so they feel comfortable. You may not feel completely comfortable initially, but you should get more comfort as you break in the skates.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not wear skates barefoot; bacteria on your feet can damage the skates.

  • If purchasing skates for children, do not buy any that are a bigger size that they can "grow into." Buying a larger size increases the likelihood of injury to your child's feet.
