How to Draw a Man's Face
Drawing faces is one of the most difficult activities that an artist can engage in. However, a face can be broken down into easy shapes, and if the artist is going for a slightly more cartoonish appearance, the action of drawing the face can be simplified. When drawing a man's face, the artist should keep in mind that male faces are more boxy than female faces, and they have more prominent jaws and foreheads.

1
Draw the basic outline of the face. This will be shaped somewhat rectangular, taller than it is wide, with curved corners. The bottom side of the rectangle will curve downward in a shape like the tapered end of an egg. This is the man's chin.
-
2
Draw a horizontal line with a break in the middle, approximately two-thirds of the way up the face. This line will not reach from side to side, but will stop short before reaching the edges of the face. This line (which is broken into two lines by the break in the middle) represents the eyebrows.

3
Draw a small circle for the eyes, under each eyebrow. Real human eyes are shaped a little bit like almonds or footballs, and inside that shape is the circular form of the irises. Inside the irises are the pupils, also circles.
-
4
Draw a rectangular shape starting from the top in between the two eyebrows. This is the nose. Each top corner of the rectangle should connect to the eyebrow on each side of it. Don't draw the top of the rectangle. The bottom of the rectangle should end at a point just below half way down the face. Draw a short curved line on each side of the nose at the bottom corner to represent the nostrils.
-
5
Draw a single line for the mouth, half way between the bottom of the nose and the bottom of the chin. This line can be curving up in a smile.
-
6
Draw a C on the left side of the face for the left ear. The top of the ear should reach to the height of the eye, and the bottom of the ear should reach to same level as the bottom of the nose. Draw the other ear on the opposite of the face, mirroring the first ear.
-
7
Draw tufts of hair in the style you wish, all around the head from the top of the left ear to the top of the right ear.
