How to Paint Suncatchers for Kids
A suncatcher is a small piece of reflective glass or plastic hung in a location with a lot of light. The light goes through the suncatcher making the colors of the suncatcher more radiant. Children can purchase suncatchers in many different shapes and designs such as a cat, rainbow or star. Children can use paint to add color to the suncatchers and then hang them up in a window.

Instructions
-
-
1
Cover your workspace area with newspapers. You don't want to get paint on your desk or table top.
-
2
Put an art smock on over your clothing. Paint can be hard to get out of clothing so it is best to protect your clothing before you begin.
-
-
3
Open the paint that came with your suncatchers. If you did not get paint with your suncatchers, you will need to purchase a gel paint set.
-
4
Dip your paint brush in the gel paint color of your choice. Then set it down in between the black lines of the section you want to paint.
-
5
Paint the entire section in between the black lines with a light coat of the paint. You want the light to be able to shine through it.
-
6
Rinse your paint brush off in a cup of water and remove the water from the paint brush by brushing your paint brush over a paper towel.
-
7
Dip your paint brush in the next color and paint another section on the suncatcher.
-
8
Rinse your paint brush off and repeat the steps until all of the sections of the suncatcher have been painted.

Don't hang your suncatcher up until it is completely dry. This shouldn't take longer than 1 hour.
